Arts and Crafts oak lounge chair retailed by Goodyers

£950.00

Description: Arts and Crafts oak lounge chair. Original canvas work / needlepoint upholstery, depicting mythological creatures. Classic Yin and Yang motifs.

Manufacturer: Retailed by Goodyers, Regent Street, London. Goodyers was established in Bond Street in 1889 by FB Goodyer, a former partner at Liberty & Co. Originally established as The Aesthetic Gallery the business later moved to Regent Street.

Date: c.1905

Dimensions: Width 58cm; Depth 61cm; Height 85cm

Condition: Excellent, untouched original condition. The solid oak frame is a lovely rich colour. Structurally strong. Some shrinkage/splitting to the oak but this is very common and certainly doesn’t detract from the overall design. Original sprung seat cushion.

An excellent example of this classic Arts and Crafts design.
